Marketplace Content Guidelines

Last updated: May 20, 2026

Effective Date: May 20, 2026

1. Workflow Listing Standards

All workflows submitted for listing on the AlterLab Workflow Marketplace must meet the following standards before publication and at all times while the listing remains active.

1.1 Required Listing Information

Every listing must include accurate and complete information across the following fields:

  • Title: A clear, descriptive title that accurately reflects what the workflow does
  • Description: A full description of the workflow's purpose, data sources accessed, and expected outputs
  • Use Case: The specific business or research use case the workflow is designed to address
  • Limitations: Known limitations, failure modes, or conditions under which the workflow may not perform as expected
  • Estimated Success Rate: A good-faith estimate of the workflow's success rate based on actual testing, where measurable

1.2 Prohibited Listing Practices

The following practices are prohibited and will result in listing rejection or removal:

  • Misleading claims about what the workflow does, the data sources it accesses, or the legality of its use case
  • Inflated or fabricated success rate benchmarks not based on genuine testing
  • False descriptions of data sources (e.g., claiming public data access when the workflow relies on authentication bypass)
  • Sample outputs or screenshots that are not genuine representations of actual workflow output
  • Incomplete or misleading pricing information, including omission of per-use costs or credit consumption rates

1.3 Categories

Listings must be placed in the most accurate category that describes their primary function. Miscategorising a listing to gain visibility is a prohibited practice. AlterLab reserves the right to recategorize listings that are incorrectly placed.

2. Content Policies

The following content policies govern which types of workflows may be listed on the Marketplace. These policies supplement and incorporate by reference the prohibited conduct set out in Sections 8.1 and 8.2 of our Acceptable Use Policy.

2.1 Permitted Workflow Types

The following categories of workflows are permitted on the Marketplace, subject to compliance with all other policies:

  • Legitimate business automation (lead qualification, CRM enrichment, internal reporting)
  • Lead generation from publicly available sources such as business directories, public registries, and openly-indexed professional profiles
  • Market research and competitive intelligence using publicly accessible data
  • Price monitoring, product availability tracking, and inventory intelligence
  • Content aggregation, news monitoring, and media intelligence

2.2 Age-Restricted Content

Workflows designed to access, aggregate, distribute, or facilitate engagement with age-restricted content are not permitted on the Marketplace under any circumstances.

2.3 Legal Compliance Certification

By submitting a listing, the creator certifies that the workflow complies with all applicable laws and regulations in their jurisdiction and in the jurisdictions of their intended users. AlterLab does not verify legal compliance on behalf of creators, and creators bear sole responsibility for ensuring their listings do not facilitate illegal activity.

3. Review and Approval

3.1 New Listings

All new workflow listings are subject to editorial review before publication. AlterLab targets a review turnaround of 48 hours from submission, though review times may vary depending on volume and complexity. A listing is not published until it has passed review. Review does not constitute endorsement of a workflow or guarantee of its accuracy, legality, or fitness for any particular purpose.

3.2 Updates to Existing Listings

Updates to published listings may trigger re-review if the changes are material. Material changes include, but are not limited to: modifications to workflow logic that change the data sources accessed, changes to the use case or target audience, and updates that add new functionality not present in the original reviewed version.

3.3 Rejection and Resubmission

If a listing is rejected, the creator will receive a notification specifying the reason for rejection. The creator may resubmit the listing after addressing the identified issues. Repeated submissions of listings that violate these guidelines without meaningful correction may result in suspension of Marketplace publishing privileges.

4. Takedown and Enforcement

4.1 Reporting Process

Buyers, users, or third parties who believe a Marketplace listing violates these guidelines, the Acceptable Use Policy, or applicable law may submit a report to [email protected]. Reports should include the listing name or identifier, a description of the alleged violation, and any supporting evidence.

4.2 Response Timeline

AlterLab will investigate reports of violations and endeavor to respond within 72 hours of receipt. Complex reports requiring detailed review may take longer. AlterLab will notify the reporting party of the outcome of its investigation where legally permissible.

4.3 Takedown Procedure

Where a listing is found to violate these guidelines or applicable law, or where a valid DMCA takedown notice has been received, AlterLab may remove the listing from the Marketplace pending investigation. The creator will be notified of the takedown and the reason for removal, except where notification is legally prohibited or would impede an ongoing investigation.

4.4 Enforcement Actions

Depending on the nature and severity of the violation, enforcement actions may include one or more of the following:

  • Temporary suspension of the listing pending correction or investigation
  • Permanent removal of the listing
  • Suspension of Marketplace publishing privileges
  • Account suspension or termination under the Terms of Service
  • Referral to law enforcement for listings that facilitate illegal activity

5. DMCA Copyright Takedown Procedure

AlterLab respects the intellectual property rights of others and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"), 17 U.S.C. §§ 512 et seq. This section governs copyright takedown requests and counter-notices relating specifically to Marketplace listings. For the full DMCA policy applying to all AlterLab services, see Section 9 of our Acceptable Use Policy.

5.1 Designated DMCA Agent

AlterLab has designated an agent to receive notifications of claimed copyright infringement. All DMCA takedown notices relating to Marketplace listings must be sent to:

DMCA Agent: Legal Department, RapierCraft Inc.

Email: [email protected]

Mailing Address: RapierCraft Inc., 651 North Broad Street, Suite 201, Middletown, DE US

5.2 What a Valid Notice Must Include

To be valid under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), a takedown notice must include all of the following:

  • A physical or electronic signature of a person authorised to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or a representative list of such works if a single notice covers multiple works
  • Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity, and information reasonably sufficient to permit AlterLab to locate the material (e.g., the Marketplace listing URL or identifier)
  • Information reasonably sufficient to permit AlterLab to contact the complaining party, such as an address, telephone number, and email address
  • A statement that the complaining party has a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or applicable law
  • A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorised to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed

Notices that do not substantially comply with these requirements may not be acted upon. Submitting a materially false takedown notice may result in liability for damages under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).

5.3 Counter-Notice Process

If you are a creator and believe your listing was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice to the designated agent above. A valid counter-notice must include:

  • Your physical or electronic signature
  • Identification of the material that has been removed or disabled, and the location at which it appeared before removal (e.g., the listing URL)
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification
  • Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or any judicial district in which AlterLab may be found, if your address is outside the United States), and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original takedown notice or an agent of that person

Upon receipt of a valid counter-notice, AlterLab will forward it to the original complainant. AlterLab may restore the removed listing within 10 to 14 business days of forwarding the counter-notice, unless the complainant notifies AlterLab that it has filed an action seeking a court order to restrain the allegedly infringing activity.

5.4 Repeat Infringer Policy

In accordance with the DMCA, AlterLab will terminate the Marketplace publishing privileges, and where appropriate the accounts, of creators who are determined to be repeat infringers. AlterLab maintains records of all DMCA takedown notices received and counter-notices filed relating to Marketplace listings. A creator may be designated a repeat infringer after receiving two or more substantiated takedown notices, or where a pattern of infringing conduct is otherwise established. Termination under this section is final and non-refundable.

6. Appeals

6.1 Right to Appeal

Creators may appeal enforcement actions taken under these guidelines, including listing removals, publishing suspensions, and account restrictions. Appeals should be submitted to [email protected] with the subject line "Marketplace Appeal" and must include a description of the enforcement action, the grounds for the appeal, and any supporting evidence.

6.2 Appeal Timeline

AlterLab will review appeals and endeavor to issue a decision within 10 business days of receipt. Complex appeals may require additional time. AlterLab will notify the appellant of the outcome in writing.

6.3 Final Decisions

AlterLab's decision on appeal is final. Final decisions are not applied retroactively to prior published runs of workflows that were live and compliant at the time of execution. Creators whose appeals are denied are not precluded from submitting new, compliant listings in the future, unless the enforcement action expressly prohibits future submissions.
